Summary

The IT Specialist role brings the opportunity to work with a rapidly scaling business using current SaaS based applications and platforms, mixed with more established IT environments. The role will be primarily project based, working on improving current systems and infrastructure and maintaining those systems. The qualified candidate will be providing onsite technical support to the staff. 


Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain core SaaS based infrastructure, including Egnyte and Azure, Office 365, Mimecast, Sophos

• Provide day-to-day end support, configuration, maintenance, and repair while analyzing any possible trends. Respond to requests and maintain accurate log of help desk calls and actions performed

• Document processes and maintain documentation on infrastructure and systems

• Helps to determine timeframes and assists in overseeing IT projects including integrations, system updates, upgrades, by coordinating resources and timetables with various departments

• Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented

• Monitor systems performance, maintain and provide support for LAN, network segments, and Internet by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Troubleshoot variations and outages utilizing the technology monitoring tools available and working to isolate issues when identified.

• Assist with upgrading information technology security, hardware, software and implementing changes in company supported platforms.

• Administer servers and manage virtual environment (VM Ware), Backups, and DR Solutions, switches, firewalls, phones, software deployment, security updates (AU, Spam) and patches

• Recommend information technology upgrades/updates. Changes in current IT policies, and procedures by evaluating and identifying problems, evaluating trends, anticipating company’s technology requirements

• Accomplishes financial objectives by managing and reporting on allocation of IT budget, assist in preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances

• Provide end user training on, but not limited to the following: MS Office packages, Conferencing systems, IT policies and procedures, equipment and various Cloud based system/platforms

• Manage and assist on domain migrations and integration

• Gather requirements, pricing and project plans together to present accordingly

• Communicate status reports, issues, and Identifying opportunities for team training and skills advancement to Director of IT/Operations on a proactive basis

• Manage and maintain legacy hardware systems

• Backup Operations support as required (inventory, office supplies, vendor management)


Qualifications

Essential skills

• Excellent knowledge of core IT systems, including; ADSS, VMware, Office 365, Azure, AWS

• Experience with SaaS based infrastructure and solutions

• Experience with configuring, installation, setup and troubleshooting machines (Desktop and laptop)

• Backup and DR management

• Server virtualization and hardware management

• Familiarity with mobile device technology, for all platforms

• Understanding of networking technologies including LAN/WAN connectivity/topology, VPN, Web Meeting Technology, RADIUS, RRAS, ADCS

• Familiarity with Move/Add/Change protocols for phone systems ideal

• Exposure to Advantage project management tools or similar product would be an asset

• Domain migration experience

• Problem-solving aptitude

• Analytical mind with a business acumen

• Flexible, driven self-starter

• Excellent communication skills

• Experience supporting both Mac and PC


Desirable skills

• Knowledge of traditional networking

• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting

• Experience with using APIs

• Experience with Hyper-V

• Experience with Mimecast or other Anti-Spam solution


Experience

5+ years relevant IT experience

Agency IT or supplier experience preferable

Degree or equivalent work experience

Occasional travel through US and to UK may be required
